Asset Integrity Services

Accessing the Inaccessible for Detailed Inspection

Rope access techniques provide a safe, efficient, and cost-effective method for conducting close visual and detailed inspections of structures that are otherwise difficult or expensive to reach. This allows for thorough examination of critical components on assets such as offshore platforms, bridges, flare stacks, masts, and industrial structures without the need for extensive scaffolding.

Pipeline and Tank Inspection Methodologies

Ensuring the integrity of pipelines and storage tanks is crucial for operational safety and environmental protection. Our inspection methodologies include:

  • Close visual inspection of external surfaces for corrosion, mechanical damage, coating breakdown, and leaks.

  • Assessment of supports, flanges, and associated pipework.

  • Utilisation of NDT methods (where qualified or overseeing qualified technicians) such as Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) gauging to identify wall loss.

  • Detailed reporting of findings to support maintenance and repair decisions.

Critical Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Surveys

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is a significant threat, often progressing undetected until severe damage occurs. Using rope access, we can efficiently conduct CUI surveys on insulated pipelines and vessels. This involves:

  • Strategic removal of insulation at susceptible locations (e.g., joints, penetrations, damaged cladding).

  • Visual inspection of the substrate beneath the insulation.

  • NDT methods (e.g., UT gauging, pulsed eddy current where applicable) to assess condition.

  • Careful reinstatement of insulation and cladding.

  • Identifying CUI early is vital for preventing unexpected failures and maintaining asset integrity.

Informing Decisions with Life Extension Surveys

For ageing infrastructure, understanding the current condition is key to making informed decisions about maintenance, repair, or replacement. Life Extension surveys provide this critical data. Through detailed visual inspection and targeted NDT, we assess the structural integrity, identify degradation mechanisms (corrosion, fatigue), and provide comprehensive reports that enable asset owners and engineers to:

  • Evaluate the remaining service life.

  • Plan targeted maintenance and repairs.

  • Manage risks associated with ageing assets effectively.
