DR Corrosion Ltd is led by Director, Robert Meechan, a highly skilled IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor with a distinguished career marked by his ability to successfully lead teams on challenging, high-stakes projects. His expertise encompasses complex fabric maintenance and rigging operations, executed within highly regulated, time-critical, and safety-sensitive environments. Robert effectively manages projects, leveraging his extensive experience to proactively address issues, resolve problems, and inspire his teams to deliver exceptional results on deadline. He employs a visible and inclusive leadership style, fostering a culture of safety and excellence in every project he undertakes.

Robert's experience includes:

Successfully leading teams of up to 30 skilled rope access technicians specializing in paint, blasting, and rigging, as a Level 3 QA/QC Coatings Safety Supervisor in Offshore Aberdeen, UK Wind Sector and Holland (Mar 2021 - Present). His responsibilities included QA/QC reporting, RAMS preparation, and seamless coordination between offshore and onshore management, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all work scopes and work packs.

Leading rope access technicians in the execution of fabric maintenance and rigging scopes in Azerbaijan Baku (Oct 2017 - 2021). He adhered to stringent quality control processes and standards, including company procedures, lift plans, and BP protocols. His role encompassed work pack preparation, setup, supervision of working practices, and comprehensive reporting to both onshore and offshore management, as well as QA/QC reporting, delivery of Tool Box Talks, and ensuring compliance with Permit conditions.

Successfully managing diverse work scopes on the Clyde and Thistle Offshore Platforms (Jan 2017 – Oct 2017), including Jacket FM, FM structural and piping work, insulation projects, and DROP survey and rigging operations. He cultivated strong relationships with colleagues to maximize work quality, effectiveness, and efficiency and ensured that deliverables met high-quality standards and project schedules were maintained.

Conducting internal inspections and repairs of the chimney, directing the erection of head rigs for rope access and rigging equipment, and overseeing the change-out of flare tips at the Tjelbergodden Statoil Site in Norway (Apr 2016 – Nov 2016). His responsibilities included managing the removal of old rock wool insulation, and the blasting, coating, and re-instatement of new rock wool and cladding.

Providing safety leadership and supervision for LOLER lifting equipment inspectors and rigging teams working at height in the North Sea (Sep 2015 – Mar 2016).

Communicating work scopes and schedules and ensuring their completion on the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm project (Jul 2015 – Sep 2015). He also prepared essential documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, rescue plans, TBTs, rope hours, and manifests.

Managing FM and CUI projects offshore, ensuring adherence to Premier Oil procedures and safe working practices at Premier Oil Balmoral FPV (May 2012 – Jun 2015). His responsibilities included delivering Tool Box Talks, raising ISSOW TRA & Permits, producing coating & insulation reports, managing equipment and material ordering, updating FM & CUI trackers, and assisting the Company Planner. He also supervised specialist vendors.

Promoting team involvement in HSE activities, delivering Tool Box Talks, preparing Rescue Plans, and executing task-based risk assessments at Cormorant Alpha, North Cormorant and Tern Alpha (Mar 2011 – Mar 2012). He also maintained high standards of cleanliness and safety and utilized specialized tools to prepare surfaces to ST3 and SSPC1 standards.

Earlier in his career, Robert was a Rope Access Team Leader L3 in the North Sea and Rotterdam (Jan 2009 – Mar 2011).
